50 to 500 Page SEO Audit: Choose an Efficient Sample
Plan a 50 to 500 page SEO audit by template risk, sample coverage, batch count, and stopping rules so each added page answers a defined technical question.

TL;DR
Help text allows 50 to 500 pages. On 1,568 locs those caps are 3.2%, 12.8%, and 31.9%. We did not run those batches. Homepage-only is not a 50 to 500 page SEO audit.
Direct answer: Treat a 50 to 500 page SEO audit as a coverage choice against a declared population. On this host the main map has 1,568
<loc>values. Fifty pages are about 3.2% of that list. Two hundred are about 12.8%. Five hundred are about 31.9%. Batches of eight imply 7, 25, and 63 waves. Arithmetic is not a completed crawl.
On 2026-09-14 we used curl against InfiniSynapse public URLs with user-agent InfiniSynapse-P2-desk/2026-09-14. The sample size is eight stratified requests plus CLI help text. That sample cannot establish defect rates across 1,568 locs, and it does not prove a 50-page run would have found a new class.
What you will learn
- What
audit --pagesdocuments and what we did not run - How 50 / 200 / 500 sit on a 1,568-loc map
- Why batches of eight become 7 / 25 / 63
- When to stop adding pages
- Where this page stops and a sibling owns sampling design or cadence
Eight fetches tell you the templates exist. They do not tell you how large the next draw should be. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit starts after you write N.
What the range actually documents
Key definition: A 50 to 500 page SEO audit is a bounded sample whose size is justified by strata and leftover uncertainty. It is not a census of 1,568 locs. It is not a homepage screenshot labeled fifty.
Google sitemap size limits bound how large a map file may be. NIST sample-size guidance is the independent reminder that n is a design choice. Neither page ran audit --pages for us.
People open this page when they must pick 50, 200, or 500. They do not need a larger count for the slide. The only honest reason to enlarge a 50 to 500 page SEO audit is leftover uncertainty in a named stratum.
SEO Health remains the deterministic evidence foundation for one-URL lights and for the documented audit --pages range. After those rows exist, a team may send the export into an InfiniSynapse Server API long-task workspace; the API does not invent a 50-page result we did not produce.
Help text is not a crawl
infinitegrowth@0.1.1 help documents seo-health audit --pages <n> for integers 50–500 and formats table or json. We read that contract. We did not execute it against production. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit file that pastes help text as if fifty URLs returned JSON is already false.
Formats table and json
Those two export shapes are part of the contract. They do not change coverage. A pretty table of eight homepage-adjacent URLs is still eight. JSON of the same eight is still eight. Format is not a 50 to 500 page SEO audit.
Coverage math on 1,568 locs
robots.txt named three Sitemap lines. All three maps answered 200: 1,568, 76, and 94 <loc> values. Across the three files that is 1,738. The main map Last-Modified was Fri, 11 Sep 2026 11:37:28 GMT. The split inside the main file was 392 /en/tool/, 1,131 /en/blog/, and 45 other. No loc used page= or /page/.
A blog-heavy list tempts a convenience draw from the 1,131 article locs. That draw will under-cover the 392 tool URLs and the 45 other paths. Reserve homepage, locale root, at least one tool URL, at least one blog URL, and one invented miss before you fill remaining slots. Write the reserved set beside n so a later reviewer can see the allocation.
Use the 1,568 as the working population unless you declare the 1,738. Write N beside n. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit that hides N is just a vanity cap.
| Planned n | Share of 1,568 | Batches of 8 |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | 3.2% | 7 |
| 200 | 12.8% | 25 |
| 500 | 31.9% | 63 |
Python math.ceil is the function behind those batch counts: ceil(50/8)=7, ceil(200/8)=25, ceil(500/8)=63. US Census sampling documentation is why a percentage of a list is still not a probability sample unless you wrote the draw rule.
Figure: Two series from the same contract math. Share of 1,568 is not a crawl. Batch count is not elapsed time.
Fifty pages
3.2% of the main map. Enough for a pilot if every high-risk stratum is represented: homepage, locale root, tool, blog, and a miss. Not enough to publish a site-wide rate. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit that stops at fifty must say why uncertainty did not justify the next wave.
Two hundred pages
12.8% of the main map. Use this when the fifty-page pilot still leaves common templates untested. Twenty-five batches of eight is a cost. AWS cost optimization and Google Cloud cost optimization are why you write the reason for the extra render before you pay it. Two hundred is a middle stop inside a 50 to 500 page SEO audit, not a default.
Five hundred pages
31.9% of the main map. Sixty-three batches. Justified when rare or diverse strata remain empty at 200 and the next repair would change. Not justified because 500 looks serious. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit at 500 is still a sample. It is not the 1,568.
Why eight fetches are not fifty
The desk we ran
User-agent InfiniSynapse-P2-desk/2026-09-14 requested eight public addresses: / 200, /en 308, hub tool 200, blog twin 308, second tool 200, blog article 200, invented /en/ path 301 then blog 404 with the homepage title, and robots.txt 200. That is a stratified desk. It is 8 / 1,568 ≈ 0.5%. It is not fifty. Promoting those eight rows into a 50 to 500 page SEO audit invents 42 to 492 fetches.
The same afternoon, seo-health check on the hub URL exited 0 with one Image Alt Text warning (2/5). Title 51. Words 2,530. Speed 79. Cached false. One URL. Not fifty. Lights on the hub do not enlarge a 50 to 500 page SEO audit.
Batch arithmetic we did not run
7 / 25 / 63 are ceilings from the documented batch size of eight. We did not queue those waves. As of 2026-09-14 the only executed CLI job in this rewrite is the one-URL check. Do not file 7 batches of eight as observed runtime. Batch math is planning for a 50 to 500 page SEO audit. It is not evidence the waves completed.
Skills workflows have zero schedule: keys, so those waves also have no calendar. Cadence belongs on the sibling page. Size belongs here.
Reproduce the population with curl on robots.txt and a loc count on the main map. Reproduce the desk with the same eight addresses and the same user-agent. Reproduce the contract with seo-health audit --help. Those three reproductions stay separate. Mixing them into one “we crawled 50” sentence is how a planning number becomes a fake result.
How to choose 50, 200, or 500
Count strata first
List templates, locales, and risk tiers. Set a minimum per stratum. If fifty cannot cover the design, write why the first draw must be larger. The sampled site audit page owns the frame, seed, and nonresponse rule. This page owns the cap. Strata first is how a 50 to 500 page SEO audit avoids a convenience blog draw.
Run a fifty-page pilot
Use the pilot to estimate outcome mix, nonresponse, and whether one systemic defect already determines the next repair. Write every parameter before observing outcomes so a 50 to 500 page SEO audit cannot be tuned after an inconvenient result.
Measure marginal yield
For each added batch, count new root-cause classes and newly covered strata, not merely additional affected URLs. Stop when new batches repeat known repairs. Falling yield means the next eight pages add volume, not a different ticket. Marginal yield is the stop rule inside a 50 to 500 page SEO audit.
Stop when classes repeat
Move to 200 when uncertainty remains across common templates. Use 500 when rare strata still lack coverage and the added render cost is justified. Completion follows that stopping rule, never a desire to display a larger count. The how often to audit a website page owns when to rerun the same cap after a deploy. Cadence does not change n. A later 50 to 500 page SEO audit can reuse the same cap.
Failure modes that inflate the count
Homepage as fifty. / was 200. That is one URL. Calling it a 50 to 500 page SEO audit invents 49 rows.
Vendor docs as the sample. Fetching documentation endpoints proves those endpoints. It does not cover 1,568 locs on this host. That swap is not a 50 to 500 page SEO audit.
Duplicate failures as new discoveries. Ten blog URLs with the same missing alt are one class. Counting them as ten reasons to grow a 50 to 500 page SEO audit wastes the next batch.
Ignoring nonresponse. A planned fifty that returns thirty still has a nonresponse row.
Batch count as a time guarantee. 63 waves are arithmetic. They do not predict latency or quota.
Site-wide percentage from a convenience draw. 31.9% of the list is a coverage share. It is not a defect rate unless the draw was designed for that estimate.
NIST prc222 is the caution against treating a larger convenience sample as automatic precision. Write the frame. Then write n.
Cluster guides for this pillar
This page keeps the cap and the stopping rule. The SEO website audit hub owns inventory. Use the hub when you still need the three-map split before you size a 50 to 500 page SEO audit.
| Job you actually have | Guide to open next |
|---|---|
| Population, strata, and seed | sampled site audit |
| When to rerun the same cap | how often to audit a website |
| Maps and the eight-fetch desk | SEO website audit |
Pick n against the loc list, not the homepage
Write N, then n, then the batch math. Do not promote eight fetches into fifty.
Run SEO Health CheckerFrequently Asked Questions
When is fifty pages enough?
When every required stratum is represented and more batches are unlikely to reveal a new root cause that changes the next repair. State that stopping rule. Fifty is 3.2% of 1,568 on this host. That share is a pilot inside a 50 to 500 page SEO audit, not a census.
Why use two hundred pages?
Use 200 when the fifty-page pilot leaves uncertainty across common templates or locales and added batches still discover actionable classes. That is 12.8% of the main map and 25 batches of eight. Write the leftover stratum beside the larger 50 to 500 page SEO audit cap.
When is five hundred justified?
When a diverse public inventory has rare or high-risk strata still undercovered at 200 and the marginal findings justify added render cost. Five hundred is 31.9% of 1,568 and 63 batches. It is still not the census. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit at 500 still needs a stop sentence.
Does a larger sample guarantee accuracy?
No. Design quality matters more than count. A biased 500-page draw can be less useful than a stratified 50-page sample. A 50 to 500 page SEO audit that skips the frame cannot be rescued by n.
Did we run the 50-page CLI audit?
No. Help text documents --pages 50–500. This rewrite used eight curl rows and one check on the hub URL. Do not file a 50-page result we did not produce.
Conclusion
Use a 50 to 500 page SEO audit when the job is to pick n against a declared list and stop when new classes stop appearing. The 2026-09-14 desk shows 1,568 / 76 / 94 locs, coverage shares of 3.2% / 12.8% / 31.9%, and batch ceilings of 7 / 25 / 63 that we did not run. Close the file when N, n, the draw rule, and the reason for stopping are still visible. Honest arithmetic is more useful than an unsupported 500-page claim.
Keep the InfiniSynapse web app for a later credited memo, not for choosing 50 versus 500. The routine pass remains the loc list, the cap, and the batches you actually queued.
