A company growth rate is meaningful only when three dimensions are named: the metric, the comparison period, and the business scope. Revenue growth can differ from customer, capacity, operating-profit, cash, net-income, or per-share growth. Year over year compares equivalent periods; quarterly annualization requires a stated compounding assumption; CAGR smooths beginning and ending values across the correct number of intervals. Reported scope includes acquisitions from consolidation, while organic or constant-price measures need explicit reconciliations. Negative, zero, or near-zero bases can make percentages undefined or unhelpful. The output should be a labeled passport, not an unlabeled “growth” number.

The record separates flows from balances and year-end from average available capacity. Capacity of 20 exists at 31 December, not throughout the year. Utilization uses average available capacity: 11.25 ÷ 15 = 75.0% versus 8 ÷ 10 = 80.0%. Using 20 would produce 56.25% and mix date capacity with annual availability.

CAGR counts intervals, not observations. Four year-end values from 20X3 through 20X6 contain three intervals. The 33.9% CAGR smooths endpoints; it does not claim 33.9% growth in each year. Acquisitions, prices, and plant timing remain unless separately adjusted.

“Organic” still needs a rule for the new plant. Because it belongs to the pre-acquisition company, this page keeps its ramp in same-scope growth. Another disclosed, consistent method could exclude new capacity. State whether greenfield capacity, commodity pass-through, currency, discontinued operations, and restatements remain.

Using Free cash flow = operating cash flow − total capital expenditure yields 6 in 20X5 and −15 in 20X6 as new-plant spending rises. Calling this a 350% fall communicates poorly; “declined by 21 and turned negative” is clearer. Because FCF lacks a uniform definition, retain the CFO and capex bridge.

One reader can cite 60.0% reported revenue growth, another 13.3% same-scope constant-price growth, and a third 40.6% processed-volume growth; all can be correct because their passports differ. Then ask whether the plant reaches utilization, acquired customers remain, price effects reverse, margins recover, cash turns positive, and issuance produces per-share benefit.
