## What this file is

A downloadable record of the FAQ-“active” versus finance-“active” replay. It documents the six-step method, input boundary, retrieved-pack counts, and artifact inventory. The companion [aggregate CSV](https://infinisynapse.com/blog-media/what-is-a-knowledge-base/downloads/aggregate-KB-WHATIS-ACTIVE-20260822.csv) contains only the two published aggregate rows, not 11,600 raw rows. The companion [verify script](https://infinisynapse.com/blog-media/what-is-a-knowledge-base/downloads/verify-KB-WHATIS-ACTIVE-20260822.py) checks those published rows only. No independent reproduction was known as of 2026-08-28.

## Six-step method (reproducible)

1. Pick one source you are authorized to read. Prefer a replica or sanitized extract.
2. Refuse the help-center export. Write or export ten field notes and one approved report.
3. Upload the pack, then bind it to that source. Binding is a separate click from upload.
4. Ask one analysis goal with the source selected.
5. Inspect the artifacts and confirm the finance code plus trial exclusion.
6. Ask the same goal next week. A successful replay keeps the same definition.

## Source and goal

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Source | Sanitized 11,600-row subscriptions extract the desk is authorized to read |
| Source grain | One row per sanitized subscription record |
| Source version | Fixed desk extract dated 2026-08-22 |
| Collision | Support “can log in this week” vs finance `status = 3` excluding trials |
| Pack metadata | First-party sanitized composite; owner: InfiniSynapse Data Team; hashes and source documents are not published |
| Bind mapping | Finance notes + signed report ↔ named subscriptions extract |
| Retrieval configuration | Bound-pack retrieval; configuration values not published |
| Unbound baseline | Same goal and source with FAQ retrieval unbound from the finance pack |
| Goal asked twice | “How many accounts are active?” |

## Retrieved-pack counts

| Retrieval state | Notes retrieved | Reports retrieved | Exceptions retrieved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unbound (FAQ louder) | 11 | 16 | 12 |
| Bound finance pack | 12 | 17 | 14 |

Nothing in the database changed. The bound pack changed which definition was allowed.

## Task artifacts

| Retrieval state | SQL | Memo | Chart | CSV | Finance code cited |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Unbound (FAQ louder) | 1 | 0 | 1 | 0 | No |
| Bound finance pack | 1 | 1 | 2 | 1 | Yes |

Wall-clock for the bound rerun: 10 minutes (warehouse time excluded).

## Minimum disclosure for independent replication

Disclose source grain, row count, and version; pack and report hash, version, date, and owner; support and finance definitions; bind mapping; retrieval configuration; query, SQL, and passages; unbound baseline; all outputs and failures; run time; and conflicts of interest.
