## What this file is

A downloadable record of asking the same “active customers last month” goal twice: once with no bound pack, then with a one-page definition note locked. It is **not** a named-logo customer case, a vendor bake-off, or a Stripe / AWS / Stanford / McKinsey experiment.

## Four-step method (reproducible)

1. Bind a monthly operations-adjacent goal on a read-only orders source. Sanitize first.
2. Run the goal unbound. Accept the first “active customer” caption as the control.
3. Bind a one-page note: “active customer is a shipped order in 90 days, marketplace excluded.” Rerun the same goal.
4. Score both runs on three checks: bound sentence retrieved, window matches pack, marketplace excluded.

The reviewer rejected the first paragraph and accepted the second file. The 2,410-row gap was a different definition, not rounding.

Wall-clock for the successful bound run: 9 minutes (warehouse time excluded). The clock started when the operator opened the standing goal and ended when both files and the retrieved sentence sat in one folder.
