**Date:** 2026-08-25 (Tuesday)

## What this file is

A downloadable record of treating three vendor-gallery slides as examples, then running the same weekly variance goal as a workspace pack that kept the memo, the chart, the extract, and the SQL. It is **not** a named-logo customer case, a vendor bake-off, or an ITU / ISO / Stanford / McKinsey experiment.

## Four-step method (reproducible)

1. Collect the gallery slides and chat screenshots that were being called examples. Note whether any slide opened to SQL.
2. Bind the same weekly variance goal on a read-only operations-adjacent source plus a one-page definition note. Sanitize first.
3. Score three checks: memo present, chart title states the test-account exclusion, SQL openable.
4. Compare the gallery set with the workspace pack side by side. Archive the slides as decoration.

## Source and goal

| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Sources | Three vendor-gallery slides plus chat screenshots; then one weekly fact table, about 12,600 order lines, plus a one-page definition note |
| Standing goal | Weekly variance memo: top drivers of contribution versus plan, with SQL and an exceptions CSV of SKUs over 8% versus plan |
| Contrast | Gallery slides vs workspace pack |

## Results

| Retrieval state | Memo present | Chart states exclusion | SQL openable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gallery slides | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Workspace pack | 1 | 1 | 1 |

Wall-clock for the successful pack: 9 minutes (warehouse time excluded). The clock started when the operator opened the standing goal and ended when the memo, the chart, the CSV, and the SQL sat in one folder.
