The desk used a sanitized finance scenario to test a controller-style handoff. The working objects were a read-only finance replica, Budget v3, an account-rollup note excluding one-time reclass, a cost-center driver extract, and a retained two-page memo.

The first narrative blamed hiring. Opening the driver table showed contracted services rather than FTE. A second pass joined the vendor invoice extract and isolated a $110k reserved-instance true-up inside the illustrative $150k cloud variance. The operator rejected the first adjective and retained the revised memo only after the version, cutoff, rollup, and driver join were visible.

This is concrete first-party desk experience, not a named customer case. The source rows, source documents, hashes, and ledger balances are not published, so no external party can reproduce the underlying composite.
